This report is the first part of an overall review of the implementation of recommendations related to justice in Sint Maarten. It focuses on four areas: youth crime prevention, the Miss Lalie Center, youth probation, and adult probation. The findings indicate mixed results, with some progress in adult probation (94% of recommendations followed) but significant gaps in youth-related areas. The report highlights the lack of an integrated approach to youth issues, insufficient implementation of policies, and the need for stronger inter-ministerial cooperation. The Council recommends immediate action to address these gaps and emphasizes ongoing monitoring to ensure progress.
