2019 — Detention of immigrants in Curaçao

This report concerns a study into the treatment of aliens in the context of aliens detention. The main findings of the Law Enforcement Council is that a number of powers exercised in the context of detention are not expressly included in the law and that there is also no regulation regarding the assistance of a counselor for aliens in detention. It also appears that the treatment of foreigners in custody in the Sentro di Detenshon i Korekshon Kòrsou penitentiary is not in accordance with established standards.
