2019 — Approach to combating drug crime in Curaçao

This inspection report examines how drug crime is tackled in Curaçao at a local, interregional and international level. The report emphasizes the need for cooperation between different organizations and countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The report concludes that the approach to drug crime on the island is seriously inadequate. There is insufficient cooperation between involved organizations, a lack of resources and capacity, and a lack of strategy and coordination. The Council recommends strengthening cooperation, releasing more resources and developing an integrated strategy to effectively tackle drug crime.
