Caribbean NetherlandsAugust 2016Report
This report by the Law Enforcement Council assesses the effectiveness of strategies for preventing juvenile crime in Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba. The report identifies several gaps, such as the absence of a unified juvenile criminal law, lack of a coordinated policy among key institutions, and insufficient cooperation between partners in the justice chain. Despite these challenges, individual institutions work hard to improve youth outcomes. The report recommends developing a common, integrated policy for preventing juvenile crime and improving inter-institutional collaboration.
